Most Thermomix failures come down to a handful of typical causes — from a worn scale and touchscreen to error codes on the display. Below you'll find the most common symptoms and what usually lies behind them. We confirm the cause with a free diagnosis before quoting the repair.
Scale not working or jumping
Typical causes: damaged load cells in the TM5/TM6 feet — delicate components, sensitive to knocks and overloading.
We calibrate or replace the scale sensors.
Touchscreen unresponsive / white screen
Typical causes: a damaged ribbon cable or screen controller in TM5/TM6, water ingress, a worn display. Sometimes a component-level repair is enough.
We regenerate the panel at component level where possible — cheaper than a full replacement.
Overheats, cuts out or leaks
Typical causes: mechanical wear, seized bearings, a damaged seal under the blade, or motor cooling problems.
We open the drive and establish whether it's the bearings, the seal or the electronics.
Won't mix, blade won't spin
Typical causes: a seized bearing (in the TM31 it's the FAG 608 C3) after a spill, a damaged coupling or a jammed blade drive.
We replace the bearings and coupling and restore smooth drive.
Won't turn on
Typical causes: a blown fuse, a damaged power cord, a power-supply failure or a faulty mainboard.

Error codes C142, C148, C150 and C153
Thermomix TM5 and TM6 signal faults with a code on the display. We've decoded the most common ones below — codes C142, C148 and C153 we repair with our own permanent method, not just a reset.
C142
CSE in-house procedure
The lid won't lock properly
Most often the culprit is a damaged gear in the arm actuator, a worn lid sensor or a seized, dirty locking mechanism. We use our own repair procedure that eliminates the problem for good — it doesn't come back after a few weeks.
C148
Lid not detected
Usually caused by worn detection rings and contacts, an incompatible lid or bowl, or dirty contacts. We clean or replace the lid detection assembly.
C150
Device switches off, no menu access
In the TM5 this is most often an EPROM/NAND memory error. We reprogram or replace the memory, restoring access to the menu and the device's functions.
C153
Lid arm actuator fault
A code linked to the arm actuator motor. Very often a regeneration of the actuator is enough instead of replacing the whole assembly.

How to send a Thermomix by free courier
You don't have to live in Warsaw. You order a free courier, we collect the Thermomix from your door, repair it and send it back — both ways at no cost (when you repair with us). Below is how to pack the device safely.
Packing step by step
- Original box. If you have the original packaging with the foam insert, use it. It's the best fit for transport.
- Alternative box. Without the original, choose a sturdy box sized to fit the device plus protection.
- Protect the device. Wrap the Thermomix in bubble wrap or a soft material to shield it from knocks.
- Fill the empty space. Use paper or foam (a layer of at least 6 cm) to immobilise the device inside the box.
- Seal the parcel. Tape the box up carefully — especially the corners and base. You can wrap the whole thing in stretch film.
- What to put in the parcel. For the diagnosis we only need: the base unit + mixing bowl + lid. No accessories (Cook-Key, Cookido, measuring cup, stirrers, steaming parts).

No. CSE Poland is an independent, out-of-warranty Thermomix service — we are not an authorised Vorwerk service centre. We carry out professional repairs of devices after the manufacturer's warranty, often faster and cheaper than the authorised channel, with a 12-month warranty on the work.
How much does a Thermomix repair cost?

What if I decline the repair after the diagnosis?
You pay only the cost of the return shipping — 40 PLN (courier both ways plus safe packing). The diagnosis and quote are free, with no hidden costs.
How long does a Thermomix repair take?
Typically a few working days from when we receive the device. If we have to order rare parts the turnaround can be longer — we always let you know in advance when quoting.
Do you give a warranty on the repair?
Yes — we give a 12-month written warranty on the repair and the parts we replace. We issue a VAT invoice for every repair.
Do you collect a Thermomix from anywhere in Poland?

What do errors C142, C148 and C153 mean?
C142 — the lid won't lock properly (actuator gear or sensor). C148 — "lid not detected" (detection contacts or rings). C153 — an arm actuator fault. We have our own permanent repair procedure for these codes.
